CARDIOTHORACIC SURGICAL TRIALS NETWORK
Enhancing Diversity in Cardiac Surgery Trials
Dr. Clauden Louis is a cardiothoracic surgeon advanced fellow at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School, where he is completing an Endovascular Cardiac Surgery and Structural Heart Fellowship. He received a Master’s degree in biomedical sciences at Barry University, a Master’s degree in public health at Johns Hopkins University and is completing a Masters of Health Administration at Massachusetts General Hospital Institute for Health Professions. He has completed certificates at the Sherwin B. Nuland Summer Institute in Bioethics at Yale and currently a participant of the Harvard Surgical Leadership Program. Dr. Louis served as chief resident in the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery at the University of Rochester Medical Center’s Program where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Dr. Louis is the recipient of several scholarships including Thoracic Surgery Foundation (TSF) Every Heartbeat Matters Structural Heart Diversity Fellowship Award, Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS) Global Fellowship Award, Cardiothoracic Ethics Forum STS/AATS Scholarship, and the AATS Denton A. Cooley Visiting Fellowship at Texas Heart Institute/Baylor St. Luke’s. He has served as past president of the Thoracic Surgery Resident Association and served current editor of four textbooks training cardiothoracic surgery. His approach is to be a passionate advocate and to establish excellent patient care.
